What you should know about me..

I am a 34 year old Puerto Rican chica born and raised in the South Bronx (Primarily Simpson Street and Soundview Projects) now living in Bayridge Brooklyn the past 6 years with my fiancee John. No kiddos yet, but I do have two cats and a dog.

I'm an Administrative Assistant, but recently became a certified Substance Abuse Counselor. I'm currently trying to transition into my field of study, and plan on returning to college asap to pursue a degree in Human Services.

I luv to write. I mostly write poetry and short stories. However, I blog as well. It's a hobby and creative outlet for me. If given the opportunity maybe one day it can be a goal to get published.

I luv music. It's my life's blood. I luv all types. I'm primarily into rock music, but back in the day I was a die hard freestyle fan. I still am, but they don't make music like they used to. I also like old school hip hop, R & B, Old School Reggae, Reggaeton, New Wave, Industrial, Salsa, and anything else that catches my ear.

I'm an avid reader as well. I'm a huge Stephen King and Anne Rice fan. I also love books by Dean Koontz, Dan Brown, Charlaine Harris, J. K. Rowling, Stephanie Meyer, and Zane to name a few. I'm always looking out for new stuff to read in Barnes & Noble.

I march to the beat of my own drum. I tend to see the good in people first, and consider myself fairly open-minded. I'm loyal to those I care about., and I have a wierd sense of humor. I truly appreciate interacting with others and having a stimulating conversation with someone that is cursed with self awareness like myself and can think outside the box.

I may live in Brooklyn now, but I will NEVER forget my Bronx roots. I carry them with me like a badge of honor. No shame in admitting I'm orginally from the Bronx. Growing up in the Boogie Down BX helped me become the strong person I am today so it's all good.

I hope to network and meet fellow Bronxites on here to stay connected to the Bronx.
