Over the years, many people have made up and changed their minds as to whether they were a Michael Jackson supporter. Now after all is said and done what will people remember? What will be his legacy?
The face augmentations, the extravagant collector, or the weird man with the secluded life style?
Or will we remember a different Michael; the great singer/performer, humanitarian, and record breaker.
It's really hard for me to get all of my thoughts about MJ out. I have been talking and thinking about him since the tragic news. Although he was the biggest superstar the world has ever known and probably will ever know, I feel ultimately he was alone. Michael had contributed so many positive things to this world, but people love drama and scandal. I know that although he has passed, a lot of people will still focus on the negativity that surrounded him. Instead of focussing on the positive things we KNOW MJ did for music and humanity, there are going to be those insensitive gossip-loving folk who are going to still ridicule him; whether or not the scandalous rumors were ever confirmed. I don't know if he did some of the scandalous things he was accused of; but I do feel that he was horribly misunderstood for most of his life. I feel if the people around him put more energy towards "helping" him (since obviosuly they thought he had problems) instead of putting him down, then certain things poobably would not have happened (if they even did). Michael was clearly a gentle soul; and I feel that the media which is often ruthless, enjoyed him being wacko jacko. It all makes me feel even worse about his passing. A Life lost is horrible, but a person dying with more slander than support is truly sad. It's like when someone in the limelight is on top, they are really on top...but soon enough the negativity will follow. People love to idolize, but they love drama more. I can go on and on about MJ, and I just might on the next DLS show. However, for now all I've got to say is that I chose to remember Michael for his positive contributions to our world. There were not many like him; he was surely a one of a kind, and I will really miss him.
AMEN...We should remember the things he did. If anyone wants to get better insight check his home videos on youtube. This dude was really raised on the stage and dealt with paparazzi since he was like 5. He gave us his highest self. That's what I remember the most. I remember my mom making me a Michael Jackson glove (twice cause i lost the 1st one). WE should remember what an artist gives us in terms of the ART. We buy and listen to the music not their personal lives. Even still I think he was a really pure person misunderstood. Imm go find my Mike Jackson glove.
