Jazz is dead. Rock-n-Roll is dead. Reggae is dead. Rap is dead. Music is dead. Period. By that I mean, there isn't much creative life being infused into music today. Music is lifeless, at least the new format of the music that is overexposed. Yes, there is a format to music now. The "format" is an assembly line production. It's all a cookie cutter output. Listen to the airwaves of commercial radio; same old songs. Mate, Kill and Repeat. At one point, a solid full-length recording meant something. Now, it's two or three hits and the rest of the songs are fillers. There is no such thing as longevity anymore. Music careers last 5 years, and then that artist is immediately forgotten about. (Remember Lil Flip?) What is going to revive music? Only time will tell...
