It’s Complicated is easily the funniest darn movie I have seen in a very long time! Anyone who misses this move will be sorry.

The show is pretty much about what the commercials portray it as. Meryl Streep use to be married to Alec Baldwin. He cheated on her with a young bombshell, they got divorced and he married the bombshell. After a night of drinking, the two hook up and end up having a good ole time. Baldwin eventually professes his desire to continue a romantic relationship with Meryl Streep’s character.

I have to admit that I was a little unsure about it at first. I know it had a stellar cast in Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, and Steve Martin, but I was not too sure that a movie about old people fooling around was something that was going to really be entertaining.

The show was easily one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Baldwin and Streep played their roles well and although Steve Martin was not in the show much, he did well with the scenes he had. John Krasinki, however, practically steals the show from these three Hollywood icons.

There is one scene where John’s character, Harley who is getting married to Jane’s (Meryl Streep) daughter sees Jake (Baldwin) check into the hotel where they happen to be meeting with a wedding planner. A few moments later he sees Jane at the front desk also; he freaks when he sees the two meet at the elevator and kiss. Not too long after that he sees a doctor check in at the front desk and assumes the worse. He excuses himself to the lobby and freaks out until he sees the doctor come down and give him the thumbs up. By some miracle he manages to misdirect his future wife through the whole sordid affair.

What really makes the show comes a little later. Jake had left a joint in Jane’s bathroom. A little anxious about her date with Adam (Steve Martin) she lights up. Adam picks her up to go to her son’s graduation party at Harley and Lauren’s place and is just a little uncomfortable until he learns why. The two of them decide to light up when they get to the party. Jake gets mad when he realizes Jane lit up without him so the two got to the bathroom where Harley end up walking in on them. After a brief moment of outrage he joins in with them. Even if you have never smoked in your life you can see where this could be hilarious.

My description does not do this movie justice, but I got to tell you that this was one of the absolute funniest collection of scenes I have ever seen. For this series of events alone I would recommend this movie.

For all those 50 cent fans BlakGhost has compiled a remix tape featuring this artist. Overall the tape is well composed and illustrates 50 cents tracks from "Shot down" to "In da Club". If you would like to get lost in the zone of 50 upload Blak Ghost's re mix tape and do you. It offers you a little over an hour of 50 cents music and the sequence of songs falls right in place.

On a scale of one-ten I would give it a 7, some of the tracks could have been longer but if it's 50 cent you want then this is the tape for you. , support the brothers compilation of music.

This mixtape is definetly worth the listen, so kick back and listen to this tape. Its worth your time.
Sports have a natural ability for being able to rally people behind a common cause. In Invictus that is exactly what Nelson Mandela was counting on.

Fresh out of Robben Island prison and newly elected to be the first post-apartheid president of South Africa in 1994, Mandela had his work cut out for him. Even with apartheid over the nation still teetered on the edge of hostility with the animosity that only years of struggle and hatred can foster. Mandela could have taken the easy route and allowed his people to destroy many of the things that the white South Africans loved, like the Springboks, the national rugby team. To do so would only further the divide instead of “balancing black aspirations with white fears,” as he desired.

This movie spoke to two of my greatest interests- political science (which have a bachelors and masters in) and rugby (which I have played for 12 years and coached for 3). I agree whole heartily with what Mandela wants to do. Sports can be something which can draw people together regardless of any personnel beliefs. Watching Mandela talk about the game and the interest that he develops is like watching a little boy being told he's going to meet Santa Claus for the first time. I loved the different scenes in which his appreciation for the game developed and how it spread to the people around him.

The change was never more evident than when a little boy was shown in the movie. The first time we see him, he runs into the mission that is giving out free clothes. He's last in line and all they have left is a Springbok practice jersey. The white lady giving it to him thinks it is the greatest thing; that the child is lucky. He would rather go without clothes and leaves empty handed. We see him later when the team visits the community, having fun and enjoying time with the players. Finally, at the end he is collecting cans outside of the stadium and trying to listen in on a policeman's radio. he tries to be coy and act as if he is uninterested, but in the end he is listening right along with the white guards who pick him and celebrate when the game is won.

This is a great movie regardless of whether or not you know anything about rugby. While the sport provides the backdrop for all the events involved, the real story is in the personal relationships that develop among people that have hated each other with a violent passion for years. It was very moving to see the team captain put himself in Mandela's cell and close the door. He could put his hands on the walls while standing in the middle it was so small.

Go see this movie. You will not regret it.

“Love beat me, rape me, make me feel worthless, love made me sick, love made me feel like an animal” said Claireece “Precious” Jones as she let out her frustrations.
Having had to endure an endless amount of hardship, Precious tells her story through the lenses of an illiterate mother of two.

This film Precious (2009), presented by Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry captures the life of a sixteen year old teen that since the age of three has had to put up with constant molestation from her father and a never ending amount of physical and mental abuse from her mother. Life in Harlem was not easy for Precious, especially since she was thrown out of her Junior High school simply because she did not “fit” with the other students who were not pregnant. At this point throughout the film Claireece “Precious” Jones feel she has nothing to look forward to, but let’s not be so negative. There are a few good people in this world who are willing to lend a helping hand to people who are less fortunate like Precious. When Precious is offered to continue her education at an “alternative” school, she is a bit hesitant because her mother makes her feel less capable than others but yet this feeling of entrapment, is the same feeling that makes her want to continue with her education. Throughout her journey, Precious encounters several different people who grow to love her for who she is and for the heart that she possesses. She is treated like a human being despite her figure, color and history. At Each One Teach One, her alternative school, she learns what the true meaning of love is when she meets her bigger than life ABC teacher, Ms. Blue Rains, played by Paula Patton. It is here, at her school that Precious builds a name for herself. She forms bonds with people that are her complete opposite, she lives to tell and write what makes her happy, what makes her sad, what it is like to be her, and most importantly, she lives to tell that despite the fact that her children and her share the same father, her reason to continue school is to give her kids a better life.

Precious is a film that captures the attention of an audience because it makes us want to jump into the screen and help the character of Precious live a normal life. It is a film that involuntarily forces us to feel sorry for this young girl but best of all, it is a film that at its end, makes the crowd scream with excitement and cry with joy because Precious has finally stood up for herself and has stood up against the system that keeps her down every day. All of the great actors who were involved in this film, especially the vivacious Mo’Nique, all deserve a life-long establishment of Oscar’s for their “edge of the seat” performance!
As the lights dim I sit down to get comfortable to see this great movie that has been the rave for the last week. Refreshment in hand I am ready to see what all the talk is about. After fifteen minutes of trailers the main feature finally commences. I think to myself “now we get to the exciting part”.

The movie starts off with some minor dialog between a girl and her boyfriend. I bury into my seat to relax and watch the action. Thirty minutes into the movie I am thinking “ok so it has a slow start”. An hour into the movie I am still wondering when it will start. All that I saw was a guy walking around with a camera, with some minor noises in the back ground now and than with little else to stimulate the imagination.

The most exciting part of the movie comes in about an hour and a half into the movie, where she is dragged out of the bed by supposedly super natural forces. Her boy friend runs out of the room once he hears her screams, and brings her back to bed. About fifteen minutes later in the finally minutes of the movie she gets up in the middle of the night and stands watching her boy friend for two hours (according to the clock on the lower part of the screen). She then turns around leaves the room and moments later starts screaming, at which point her boyfriend rushes out of the room to see what’s wrong. Silence, nothing more until steps are heard on the stairs and he comes flying into the room where the camera is situated, and she walks in looking down at him with blood on her shirt. End of movie.

Complete waste of time. How that movie has been rated the scariest movie out is beyond me. There’s nothing scary about it. In fact, in fact it isn’t even believable. Movie goers this is one movie you will not be missing anything on if you do not see it. In fact I recommend against it. BORING is an understatement.
As I sat to watch this movie I wondered what I was in for. I must say I was surprised by the cohesiveness of the story line and the dialog between the two main protagonists. The first minutes of the movie captivated the mind, and caused me to give the movie my complete attention. The movie started out innocently enough with a man and his family enjoying dinner, and then there was a knock on the door and all hell broke loose. The man’s family murdered.

The movie in and of itself explores not only the fallacies of a supposedly just judicial system, but also how a law abiding citizen can be driven to take the law into his own hands and pursue justice by his own means. The story is straight forward yet it also explores the essence of the corrupt and the just. For those who are into technology it’s a must see movie. For those into cell phones (who isn’t) you may want to watch you cell phone the next time it rings.

The ending while not practical did offer a twist that I do not think you will see coming. I believe that this movie, and Jamie Fox’s acting within it would be deemed satisfactory for all movie goers. I would have to recommend this one as a must see for all.
Now this movie was a concern for me. I wondered if they were gonna pull this one off.
I was not impressed by the trailers; I thought they were too…. cheesy. Let’s get some characters, throw a ninja in there and blow stuff up, end of movie. DAMMIT I WAS WRONG!!!
This flick had me so invigorated I felt like a kid again geared up from so much action, I was ready to do a barrel roll out of the movie theatre ready to kick some ass!

The movie starts with Destro and his long family history of selling arms to anyone willing to buy. It even touches on the story behind the metal mask worn for generations.
When Duke and Ripcord are assigned to transport his new weapon, based on Nano technology, from one rendezvous point to another, all hell brakes loose and bullets fly everywhere.

This film has layers upon layers of stories behind the Joes that brings non-watchers of the original cartoon series up-to-date quickly and helps to build the fighting scenes. From the minute the movie begins you realize anyone can get shot at any moment. The casting was great and the plot twists were acceptable from the original storyline.

Now I am the first person that hates White characters being played by Blacks and vice versa, but Marlon Wayans deserves an award for this one. What a difference from the silly characters we have known him to play over the years such as “Little Man” and “Scary Movie”. He surely stepped up to the role as Ripcord and did not disappoint.

Now I’m not complaining in the least about this film. If anything I say see it twice, but warning to the directors. In the sequel all we need is more Joes, aka “Shipwreck” better be in it. So tell General Hawk I’m geared and ready to shoot some bad guys.
Man I feel like a “Real American Hero”.

Nit pick:
The only element that I would of like to change was Destro. Although the actor did a phenomenal job, I wish he was played by Arnold Vosloo who was also in the movie and played as Zartan. He would have been a better looking Destro to me, but ahh minor setback, Yo to the mother fuckin Joe.
Lights dim …movie begins. At first you wonder, “Wait, is this a documentary? What happened to the bombs, guns and explosions that we expect from a sci-fi movie? The trailer, what about the trailer? I defiantly saw guns in that trailer?” And then as you sit and ponder, “Am I gonna leave? Was this popcorn worth it?” Then the story slowly twists and you find yourself saying “Okay, what’s going on now…our main character is in trouble.” And then “Booom” your eyes are awakened to how power hungry and brutal our society can be at any expense whether for good or bad, most times for bad.

Our main character is Wikus van der Merwe, a well known, unsuspecting employee of Multi-National United (MNU) who is appointed by his father in-law, whom is CEO of the company, to carryout a mass eviction of District 9. This location is a holding facility for an alien race that found themselves stranded on earth for 28 years. During the eviction process, he meets an alien who is trying to escape earth and return all of the alien “prawns” back to their home planet. Both characters lives are twined together ensuing in frenzy when an energy source was confiscated.

Although the movie moved like “a cassette in a CD world”, it will definitely be a memorable film. It will stir office conversations and common chatter amongst you and your friends. You will leave this film with a taste in your mouth. Now whether the flavor is good or bad is up to you.

Just don’t take 3 years to figure it out.
This year's "Where there's smoke" had a rocky start, due to some last minute cancellations and a shuffle around in roster. But all in all it was the fun and entertaining musical event. And of course to help with that success none other that the events talented host "The Main Man Murren".

Those who were there got to hear some new and creative music as well as some old classics. Sound Frontier did a couple cover songs of “I shot the sheriff” and “Hey Joe”. Jason Gisser was there to lend his sweet melodic voice and guitar riffs to the groove. A well known rapper from the Bronx Learnz was there also to light up the stage. Also on the bill was a new group I never seen before namedmention the big time smash of Red Raw and the Ruckus. Now although you could not hear much of the Rawketts the bands female singers, due to sound problems, the mixture of guitar, horns, conga, and rap lyrics was a delight to see from the band. The lead singer named Red Raw" duh hence the name, has a host of energy and of course with his hype man Q at his side, one can't lose.

The Fire Department was out strong showing support as usual. And yet again there was another fire emergency that they had to go put out. But I guess that’s what we need them for, right. The only negative thing was the attendance this year. It was a noticeable drop from last years event. After speaking to promoters there is talk of moving it to Soundview park to reach a wider audience next year. I say its a good idea, I hope actually being in the grass doesn't take away there grass roots feel. Well I guess lets just see how things turn out.

All in all of Bronx events I would say this one was a 3/5 based strickly on the performers.
